Continuing with my series of photographs (finally!) from the most epic European dad-daughter trip of (probably?) our lifetime –
29 days from December 2023 to January 2024 via planes, trains and automobiles.

In my last post, we ventured into the hallowed halls of Prague’s St. Vitus Cathedral, and in this post, we bring you a look at Prague’s Christmas Markets – celebrated as one of Europe’s Top 20 Christmas Markets for 10 years in a row.

Prague’s Christmas markets boast a rich history dating back to the 14th century when they were established as a one-day market for locals to buy provisions for Christmas Eve. The medieval city’s Christmas markets are now a major tourist attraction, offering a blend of traditional Czech culture, delicious food and drink, and unique handcrafted gifts. They are held in various locations, but the most popular location is the Old Town Square, behind the Prague Castle.

Visitors can stay warm while enjoying popular Czech treats such as trdelník (a spit cake rolled in cinnamon sugar) and svařák (citrusy mulled wine) and the sweet sounds of nightly Christmas carolers. So without further ado, enjoy the gallery…
