I was back at the historic Miami Beach Bandshell last night to catch another performance by the Miami Sound Choir, an inclusive adult community music-making experience founded in 2019 by Laurah Merisier. I was there not only with photographer duties but to support my ladyfriend Serena, who just happens to be part of the choir.

It was all part of Miami Beach Bandshell’s North Beach Social which takes place every third Thursday of the month. Rhythm Foundation, a non-profit cultural organization and leading presenter of international music in the US, in partnership with the City of Miami Beach, present a free (that’s right, FREE!) night of music featuring some of Miami’s finest music makers and artists.

As for the Miami Sound Choir, there are no auditions to participate. New members are welcome twice a year, at the start of the Fall season in August and the Spring Season in January. Miami Sound Choir rehearsals are held every Wednesday from 6-8 pm at the Little Haiti Cultural Complex.
As for Serena? She sang her little heart out…

You can learn more about the Miami Sound Choir in a previous post. Enjoy the photographs…
