Dan Perez featured in CURIN: A Subscription-based Platform that Celebrates Creativity
Back in December of 2018, and about two months after my wife passed away, my daughter and I traveled to Spain to pretty much “escape” being home for Christmas, my wife’s favorite holiday. We didn’t think we would be able to manage that particular holiday alone so soon after her passing. So, I planned a 19 day, 8 city trip to Spain which started in early December and ended with us spending Christmas with family in Galicia (from my mother’s side).
The trip started in Madrid before moving on to Córdoba, a city in Andalucía, about a four hour drive south of Madrid. During our time in the city, we paid a visit to the spectacular Mosque–Cathedral of Córdoba, designated as a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1984 and a must-see attraction in the city.
Those photographs have now been published in CURIN, a subscription-based platform that celebrates creativity across various fields including art, architecture, interior design, photography, film, and advertising. The post was curated by Melodie Leung, Director at ZHA Architects, a British architecture and design firm founded by architect Zaha Hadid (1950–2016), with its main office in Clerkenwell, London.

CURIN
As social media shifts toward pure entertainment – driven by algorithms, viral content, and endless ads, CURIN is building a platform where creativity is curated with intention. Every other week, a rotating group of inspiring creatives selects and shares work that moves them – ensuring quality, relevance, and a personal perspective.

But they not only showcase creative work – they support it. 20% of their profits go directly into the CURIN Fund, helping emerging creatives bring their ideas and projects to life. The CURIN Fund will be awarded twice a year to individuals or projects and open to creatives across all disciplines. Whenever I travel, I’m always looking to document the places and spaces I’ve been with whatever camera I own at the time. Those photographs are part of the story of my life – where I’ve been, why I was there and who I was with. That someone else finds those photographs suitable to illustrate what makes a particular place special – let’s just say it makes them a tad bit sweeter.
