Castelo dos Mouros (Moorish Castle)

Isolated on its lofty perch, one of the peaks in the hills of Sintra, the Castelo dos Mouros (Moorish Castle) is a fortification founded in the 10th century during the period the Moors occupied the Iberian Peninsula. The Moorish Castle is a privileged viewpoint to admire the view extending from Sintra to the ocean and is part of the Cultural Landscape of Sintra, a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
