To be recognized for your work is good. When you can honor your wife with that recognition is even better. That said, I’m honored to announce that this photograph I snapped of my wife tending to her ailing father in Puerto Rico (“Father and Daughter”) received “Honorable Mention” in the Photojournalism [Amateur] category in the 2018 Monochrome Awards International Black & White Photography Competition.
The photograph is dear to me as it would be that last visit my wife would make to see her father. She passed away this past September due to complications from surgery to remove a brain tumor. Blessed that I can honor her memory through this powerful medium of photography.
